OPENWAVE MESSAGING LAUNCHES AS PRIVATE COMPANY

The company will operate as a new private company and will be led by Sean MacNeill as chief executive officer. MacNeill most recently held the position of senior vice president and general manager for the Messaging Business Unit for Openwave Systems (now known as Unwired Planet).

Prior to joining Openwave Systems, MacNeill spent seven years at Dynavar Corporation, an integrated communication solutions developer to service providers and large enterprises, where he last served as president and chief operating officer. Before Dynavar, MacNeill held a variety of management positions in sales, marketing, and operations for such companies as Vocalscape Communications, a VoIP software developer, and Intrinsyc Software, Inc., a mobility software and services company. MacNeill holds a B.A. with distinction and an M.B.A. from the University of Victoria in British Columbia, Canada.
