Vidyo Powers GTS Central Europe's Affordable, Low-Latency Cloud-Based Video Conferencing Service

(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 15 June 2012 Release date- 14062012 - Hackensack, NJ - Vidyo, Inc., the first company to deliver personal telepresence, today announced that GTS Central Europe, a leading infrastructure-based provider of telecommunications services, has selected Vidyo's platform to provide video conferencing services to corporate and SME customers.

GTS Central Europe manages its own extensive fiber optic and data center network throughout the region over which it will be delivering Vidyo as a Service across its primary operating regions of Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Hungary & Poland.

GTS CE will offer a cloud-based global personal telepresence service based on Vidyo's multi-point, telepresence-quality communication and collaboration technology. The Vidyo platform enables carriers, service providers and unified communications vendors to offer affordable, easy-to-deploy solutions enabled by Vidyo's unique software-based technology that delivers exceptional quality over the Internet or general purpose IP networks.

'Selecting Vidyo to provide the technology to power GTS CE's network was an easy decision,' said Juraj Durov, Strategy and Product Director, GTS Slovakia. 'No other solution offers the level of quality, reliability and ease-of-deployment and use. Our investment in Vidyo future-proofs our business and allows us to offer our customers a truly unique telepresence solution. What really attracted us to the Vidyo platform is its telepresence quality and ability to scale in an affordable way. Vidyo supports large numbers of video conferencing endpoints over non-QoS networks, such as the Internet or 4G, and truly solves the business to business communication problem, which was a huge consideration for GTS.' 'GTS CE shares our vision that businesses want their entire organization, big or small, to be empowered with personal telepresence on their desktop and we are delighted that they have chosen Vidyo as their video communications and collaboration platform to deliver video conferencing,' said Eric LeGuiniec, Vidyo's General Manager EMEA. 'Vidyo's scalable, flexible solution is a perfect solution for service providers and carriers as it enables them to deliver high-quality, scalable and affordable video conferencing to all employees, giving them easy access whenever they need it, wherever they are, for point-to-point and multipoint conferences including to legacy H.323 endpoints.' The Vidyo Difference The Vidyo communication and collaboration platform is software-based, highly flexible and can be easily customized for individual enterprise and vertical market video conferencing needs. The patented VidyoRouter architecture introduces Adaptive Video Layering, which dynamically optimizes the video for each endpoint leveraging H.264 Scalable Video Coding (SVC)-based compression technology and Vidyo's IP. Adaptive Video Layering eliminates the MCU and offers unprecedented error resiliency, low latency rate matching thus enabling natural, affordable, high-quality video to work over the Internet, LTE and 4G networks. The platform allows users to quickly leverage the latest hardware innovations and new consumer devices, making it uniquely attractive to partners. Vidyo has been active driving H.264 SVC and SIP videoconferencing interoperability in various standards bodies since 2005.
