BRIEF: Home Video Surveillance Helps Nab Burglary Suspect, Police Say
MILFORD, Jun 29, 2012 (The Hartford Courant - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
Surveillance cameras helped police identify and capture the suspect in a residential burglary on Housatonic Drive earlier this month, police said.
The burglary happened June 21. Police used the homeowner's video surveillance footage and identified the burglar as 34-year-old Michael Spangler, police said.
Spangler was pulled over June 29 in a rest area of Exit 40 on I-95. He was in possession of 105 prescription pills and gave police a false name, police said.
Spangler was charged with third-degree burglary and second-degree larceny in connection to the break-in on Housatonic Drive.
He was additionally charged with interfering with police, possession of narcotics, illegal possession of a prescription drug and refusal to be fingerprinted.
He is scheduled to be arraigned Friday at Superior Court in Milford. Spangler is a suspect in other similar incidents, and more charges expected, police said.
