BRIEF: Myrtle Beach police search for suspect in burglary at video game business

Nov 20, 2012 (The Sun News (Myrtle Beach - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Myrtle Beach police are investigating a video game business being burglarized early Monday and cash stolen from a credit machine, according to a police report.


Officers were called just before 6 a.m. Monday to Winner Circle at 1788 U.S. 501 for an alarm that indicated glass had been broken and someone was inside the business, police said.

An officer found the front door of the business had been broken out, but did not find anyone inside, according to a police report. The officer noted a video credit game machine had been pried open and another officer found cash blowing around in the rear driveway of the business.

The second officer collected $423 in cash from the rear of the building and the owner estimated that more than $1,800 was inside the machine, according to the report. Video surveillance showed a man breaking the front door and then going into the business with a pry bar.

Officers estimated the suspect was inside the business less than 30 seconds before he ran out. Damage to the front door was estimated at $350 and the machine was $250.
