Fremont: Surveillance video captures woman stealing package, canned goods from porch
FREMONT, Nov 20, 2012 (Contra Costa Times - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
Police in Fremont released still pictures from a video surveillance camera Tuesday to help catch a woman who is seen taking a package and some canned goods for the needy from a home's porch in the Glenmoor neighborhood.
The theft took place Saturday at about 12:55 p.m. when the woman approached a home in the 4500 block of Meyer Park Circle about 20 minutes after a United Parcel Service delivered a package, police said.
The video surveillance appears to show the woman taking the package along with a bag of canned goods that had been left out for a charity organization, police said.
The woman is described as about 25 to 30 years old, 5 feet 4 inches tall and 180 pounds. She was wearing a blue sweater, blue pants and black shoes that may be boots.
