BRIEF: Smugglers Cove miniature golf business robbed in Bradenton

MANATEE, Jan 16, 2013 (The Bradenton Herald - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Manatee County sheriff's deputies are looking for a man who robbed the Smugglers Cove miniature golf business in Bradenton late Tuesday.


About 10:16 p.m., a clerk at the business, 2000 Cortez Road W., was outside by a picnic table when she was approached by the suspect, according to a news release.

The suspect forced the clerk back into the office and had her empty the cash drawer. The suspect then fled north through the parking lot, the report said.

K9 tracked the suspect to the rear of a nearby Chinese buffet restaurant, where the track was lost, according to the sheriff's office. However, the report added that deputies had obtained "good video surveillance." The suspect was described as standing about 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing 230 pounds. He was wearing a black hat, red bandana and gray shirt and shorts, according to the report.
