[January 18, 2013] Jasper Area SecurTek Dealer Celebrates 30 years of Providing Communications and Security Monitoring Services to Rural Alberta Hinton, Alberta, Jan 18, 2013 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- SecurTek recognised today Applied Communications Services, one of its rural Alberta dealers, which celebrates this year 30 years of serving security monitoring, internet and wireless communications needs in Jasper National Park, Hinton, Edson and Grande Cache areas. "Local independent dealers like Applied Communications Services play a critical role in making their knowledge and expertise available to SecurTek customers, especially in rural areas, where distances and remoteness tend to create different kinds of security concerns," noted SecurTek CEO Barry Rogers. "Business owners like Barb and Ron Rosmer make a difference daily for many customers who depend on their willingness to go out of their way to answer their needs. This is why recognizing the 30-year anniversary of their company is so important." It was 1983 that Ron Rosmer, a microwave radiotechnician by trade, and one of his co-workers started the business as a sideline. Both of them had significant experience in electronics. Ron, having nurtured a passion for telecommunications as an Amateur Radio operator for years, had been keen to adopt communications technology solutions that provided peace of mind to property owners who lived or worked in more isolated, if not wilderness settings. "There seemed to be a need for a security operation presence in our town of Hinton at the time," explains Ron Rosmer, "So we got more training and set up a security alarm business, soon followed by the establishement of a local monitoring station to serve area businesses." As a result of the original business partner's relocation, Ron Rosmer and his wife Barb became sole proprietors of what became a full time operation in 1993. Working initially out of their home and hiring extra help, customers' requests for additional services such as video surveillance, wireless phone and Internet prompted them to keep expanding into a full communications services company. Applied Communications Services' dedication to providing exceptional service to rural customers is summed up vividly on an earlier service vehicle, a rather striking white hearse featuring the company slogan: "Our Service Takes You Out of This World". When asked if he had any anecdotes to share about his 30 years of business in the wilderness, Ron Rosmer quipped: "I don't think you'd have enough space to record all the stories I could tell!" Evidently, it seems, we will simply just have to wait for the book to come out.
