OULU, Finland, Jan. 21, 2013 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Elektrobit (EB) launches the EB Tough VoIP phone for the industrial markets. EB Industrial VoIP Phone is a SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) based voice over IP (Internet Protocol) phone and provides interoperability with other SIP clients and server implementations, such as the Cisco Unified Communication Manager, that are available in the commercial and industrial markets.

The EB Industrial VoIP Phone has also been designed to perform in critical communications applications, where SIP-server infrastructure may not be present or one cannot rely on its availability in emergency situations. Therefore EB Industrial VoIP Phone provides always available voice communication services for demanding industrial communication applications.

"This product is an excellent solution for anyone looking for a highly durable and extremely reliable phone for harsh industrial use, as it is originally designed to meet the military requirements," says Mikko Viitaniemi, senior product manager at EB. "It is also easy to integrate as part of the existing IP infrastructure and does not need any special software or cablings."
