BRIEF: Burglar breaks into downtown Bangor bagel shop for cash

Feb 11, 2013 (Bangor Daily News - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- BANGOR, Maine -- A burglar broke into Bagel Central sometime overnight and took a small amount of cash from the register, but left the bagels alone, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said Monday.


"They kicked their way in through a door," the sergeant said. "They broke the cash register to get into it." An employee who arrived at work around 3:30 a.m. Monday noticed the break in and called police. The bagel shop, located at 33 Central St., has video surveillance cameras and the video was under review by police, Edwards said. Only one person is visible in the images so it appears they worked alone, the sergeant said.

"That's what it looks like, so far," Edwards said.
