ADTRAN Announces Expanded Line of IP Phones

ADTRAN (News - Alert) Inc., a provider of cloud connectivity, virtual mobility and enterprise communications solutions, has launched a new line of IP phones for flexible and feature-rich voice, video and unified communications (UC) solutions.

Officials with ADTRAN said the company’s solution set of IP Phones now includes six new models that can be deployed on a hosted- or premises-based communications network.

Company officials said the expanded line of ADTRAN IP Phones fosters a wide range of business productivity needs, and allows for various deployment scenarios, both in hosted and premises-based applications.

According to company officials, in a hosted environment, service providers can leverage ADTRAN's gateway solutions, now coupled with a broader selection of standards-based phones. Both the gateways and the phones are fully certified with industry-leading soft switches.

In a premises-based deployment, businesses can leverage the flexibility of ADTRAN's NetVanta UC solutions along with the breadth of ADTRAN endpoints to achieve more simplified installation and single vendor pre-and post-sales support.

Our expanded line of IP Phones gives our hosted and premises-based UC customers even greater flexibility and options, all from a single point-of-contact," Chris Thompson (News - Alert), senior product manager for ADTRAN's enterprise networks division, said in a statement.

Thompson said the new selection of IP phones and deployment scenarios offers the company’s customers more options, features and applications that will allow their business to achieve a more complete UC experience, and their employees to achieve a greater level of productivity.

The new line of ADTRAN IP Phones offers a wide range of traditional and advanced enterprise-grade features, including high-resolution multi-touch displays, USB ports, Bluetooth, xHTML microbrowser, and a full duplex hands-free speakerphone that utilizes legendary Acoustic Clarity (News - Alert) Technology for excellent sound quality and noise-free and echo-free conversation.

Moreover, each new phone model also includes built-in IEEE (News - Alert) 802.3af Power over Ethernet (PoE) circuitry and a dual-port Ethernet switch to enable flexible deployment and savings on cabling expenses.
