SIP phones serve as a more flexible, expandable and reliable way to deploy users’ SIP-based telephony. The benefits of SIP are plenty, and are especially compelling in today’s business environment – and economy – where every dollar holds its value. A SIP phone system is a perfect and simple solution for small businesses or even larger SIP endpoint deployments.
This week in SIP phone news, Panasonic (News - Alert) India announced that it’s set a 70 percent annual growth target in support of dominating its respective markets. In order to continue flourishing and strengthening business continuity, the company is aiming for an annual turnover rate of 10,000 crore – a pretty penny when converted to the U.S. dollar. “To achieve this, we will continue to focus on developing India-specific products and communicating and reaching out to the consumers in the right way. In fact, we aim at being the largest consumer durable player in six years. To achieve this, we have set a target of growing our business by 70 percent on a year-on-year basis,” said President Daizo Ito.
In other news, CounterPath (News - Alert), a provider of SIP-based VoIP softphones, recently revealed that it signed a strategic license royalty agreement with NTT (Nippon Telegraph and Telephone) Software Corporation. This agreement will ultimately allow NTT to leverage the company’s Bria mobile and Client Configuration Server (CSS (News - Alert)) solutions, which will therefore enable them to offer its mobile workers, telecommuters and business travelers alike with unified communications (UC) and fixed-mobile convergence (FMC) services.
“Together with NTT Software we are focused on enabling the mobile workforce to be connected any place, any time," said Todd Carothers, CounterPath executive VP of Sales and Marketing, in a statement. "With Bria and the Client Configuration Server, NTT Software's customers' will have a fast, cost-effective and uncomplicated way to extend services to nearly any employee with an iOS or Android (News - Alert) smartphone. As part of the world's largest global IT and telecommunications services company, NTT Software is an important partner for CounterPath, and we are excited to grow this important channel within Japan."
