TMCnet SIP Phones Week in Review

SIP phones serve as a more flexible, expandable and reliable way to deploy users’ SIP-based telephony. The benefits of SIP are plenty, and are especially compelling in today’s business environment – and economy – where every dollar holds its value. A SIP phone system is a perfect and simple solution for small businesses or even larger SIP endpoint deployments.


This week in SIP phone news, Panasonic’s award-winning KX-UT670 Smart SIP Desk Phone (News - Alert) was touted as being able to efficiently boost any working environment or condition. KX-UT670 API’s provide an environment for developing applications that enhance business productivity and service with the Panasonic (News - Alert) KX-UT670 Smart Desk Phone. In other news, Birch Communications has been quite busy lately, having today launched a new SIP trunking product for small- and mid-sized businesses. Recently, the company also stepped out to help ease the efforts of those who were impacted by Hurricane Sandy. Joining the thousands of government and private organizations who were working 24/7 to send relief efforts to those impacted by the storm, Birch decided to do what it could for its clients by waiving all service charges for those at both business and residential locations.

Wrapping up the week is news of N2Net’s SIP trunking solution achieving interoperability with the Toshiba (News - Alert) IPedge and Strata CIX IP business communication system. Now that N2Net SIP trunking is available throughout the U.S. from Authorized Toshiba Dealers, they “can now offer Toshiba IPedge and Strata CIX customers N2Net SIP, a cost-effective, easy-to-deploy and easy-to-manage SIP trunking solution as part of their enterprise telephony systems,” according to N2Net VP Jim Moorman.

N2Net's SIP features a number of benefits, including point-to-point service options, which guarantee quality of service, or the use of existing Internet connections with a QoS device. Additionally, it highlights available on-demand call paths, optional built-in disaster recovery, on-staff SIP engineer support and unlimited local and long distance across the 48 contiguous United States.
