TMCnet SIP Phones Week in Review

SIP phones serve as a more flexible, expandable and reliable way to deploy users’ SIP-based telephony. The benefits of SIP are plenty, and are especially compelling in today’s business environment – and economy – where every dollar holds its value. A SIP phone system is a perfect and simple solution for small businesses or even larger SIP endpoint deployments.


This week in SIP phone news, Snap Fitness turned to Panasonic (News - Alert) for its SIP Cordless phone solution, which provided increased efficiency and enhanced customer service. “Snap Fitness knew it would need to provide service that was head and shoulders above its competitors in order to stay in play,” writes TMC’s (News - Alert) Steve Anderson. What the company needed was a way to not only be available to its customers while in the facility, but to also assist potential customers who frequently called in.

After investing in ConnectMeVoice as its service provider, the company found several benefits for the Panasonic SIP Cordless Phone (News - Alert) System. Not only could employees designate hours in which work calls could be forwarded to their cell phones via the Follow Me system, but it also allowed the company to fully customize on-hold messages – a major plus during peak calling times.

In other news, Centuric revealed its all-new cloud PBX (News - Alert) phone system, which supports communication between employees no matter where they happen to be located. This plays nicely into two huge trends being seen right now in the industry: transparency and portability. These types of phone systems are designed to help companies provide customers with background information and mission positioning while they wait, as well as can easily forward calls to mobile devices such as laptops, tablets and smart phones.

Additional features and functionalities of this phone system include; a courteous auto receptionist; quick and accurate call routing; a system that can answer FAQS; and can even up-sell companies’ products and services.
