The benefits of SIP are plenty, and are especially compelling in today’s business environment – and economy – where every dollar holds its value. Some key 2012 drivers include the rise of hosted and cloud-based solutions, as well as the public’s increasing awareness of its importance and benefits. Meanwhile, the economy continued to serve as a huge driver of the SIP market this year.

Further, one of the hottest trends in SIP right now is mobility. Panasonic continues to assume increasing importance of mobility as business users try to “be less and less tethered to the office and wired solutions,” according to Bill Savino, marketing manager for Small and Medium Business at Panasonic System Communications Company North America (PSCNA). Wrapping up this week is news from a recent Panasonic webinar discussing how small to medium-sized business (SMB) can fit into the social media equation. In doing so, along with John Jantsch, an SMB expert, well-known marketing consultant, speaker and writer behind “Duct Tape Marketing, the Commitment Engine and The Referral Engine” help answer this question by revealing the seven essential stages to building a total online presence and keeping it there.

These steps include content platform, organic SEO, e-mail marketing, mobile and location, social media marketing, online advertising and analytics and conversion.
