Santa Comes Early for Panasonic - KX-UT248-B Executive SIP Phone Awarded 2012 INTERNET TELEPHONY Product of the Year Award

There are certainly no lumps of coal this year for Panasonic’s (News - Alert) (News - Alert) KX-UT248-B Executive SIP Phone, which was today presented with TMC’s (News - Alert) 2012 INTERNET TELEPHONY Product of the Year award.


Panasonic is no stranger to producing award-winning solutions, which boasts an impressive list of accolades and honors. For example, its KX-UT670 Smart SIP Desk Phone snagged the 2011 INTERNET TELEPHONY Product of the Year award and the INTERNET TELEPHONY 2012 Innovation award, which honors products displaying market-leading innovation, unique features and making significant strides toward improving communications technology. And this is only a sample of many such wins.

This year’s honorees for the 2012 Product of the Year award were selected based on the most deserving companies that have demonstrated the most vision, leadership and thoroughness, as explained in a statement.

This year was apparently a much closer call than years past, where the requirements were more rigorous and the competition was stiffer, as explained by TMC’s (News - Alert) Editorial Director, Erik Linask (News - Alert). "Judging this year was more difficult than ever, with the breadth of products being reflective of the continuous evolution of the IP communications market.  These winners have been chosen based on their innovation and ability to solve real business communications challenges," Linask explains in said statement.

The KX-UT248-B includes the following features and functionalities:

  • 4.4 inch four-level grayscale graphical LCD
  • HD Voice (G.722)
  • Paper label free
  • Three-way conference call
  • 2 x GbE ports, PoE
  • Full duplex speaker phone
  • Built-in Bluetooth
  • Plug-and-Play configuration

Bill Savino, marketing manager for business communication solutions at Panasonic, took the time to elaborate on the excitement of adding yet another member to the company’s family of award-winning products and solutions.

"The KX-UT248-B is the latest introduction in the Panasonic SIP phone line up and is a perfect fit for any small or midsized business in any industry," Savino said. “This new SIP end point is the most recent addition to the UT series, which are our wired SIP phone series. This latest model is both feature rich and business friendly, making it suitable for an executive's desk. And it is as reliable, affordable and flexible as all our telecom offerings to date."
