SIP phones serve as a more flexible, expandable and reliable way to deploy users’ SIP-based telephony. The benefits of SIP are plenty, and are especially compelling in today’s business environment – and economy – where every dollar holds its value. A SIP phone system is a perfect and simple solution for small businesses or even larger SIP endpoint deployments.
Kicking off this week is Digitcom, one of Canada’s largest resellers of phone and data solutions, who recently revealed its all-new hosted PBX (News - Alert) platform. This new solution was developed to serve as a unique, hybrid premise/hosted PBX communication solution.
“As the business phone systems market has matured, client requests for an IP-centric voice network have increased exponentially," Digitcom President Jeff Wiener explains. "This increase in client interest has spurred our corporate migration towards this IP-centric model, leading to many new competitive challenges; none more so than hosted PBX.”
Also this week was news of Simon Parkinson, head of service for north-west Europe at Panasonic (News - Alert), who divulged in an interview series how the company continues to strive to transform the face of customer service with new and ground-breaking technologies.
“Recently we've launched an initiative aimed at improving the quality of the technical assistance we offer customers through our nationwide network of support engineers,” he explained. “We've set up an internal online training platform for technical staff, called Insite, which uses social media tools to make it easier for them to keep up to date with the latest guidance on repairing Panasonic products.”
He concludes, “Without a clear sense of the purpose behind deploying the technology, it is harder to secure buy-in from staff and difficult to gauge whether it has been successful or not.”
Wrapping up this week is exciting news about Panasonic’s involvement at this year’s 2013 Consumer Electronics Show (CES (News - Alert)). Not only was the company a featured exhibitor at the show, but Panasonic was also invited to deliver a keynote speech. At the show, Panasonic unveiled many industry-leading consumer technologies and insights .
