TMCnet SIP Phones Week in Review

SIP phones serve as a more flexible, expandable and reliable way to deploy users’ SIP-based telephony. The benefits of SIP are plenty, and are especially compelling in today’s business environment – and economy – where every dollar holds its value. A SIP phone system is a perfect and simple solution for small businesses or even larger SIP endpoint deployments.

Kicking off this week is a new acquisition made by Estech Systems Inc. (ESI (News - Alert)), a designer and manufacturer of high-performance phone systems and cloud services for business and organizations, who recently purchased the entire Vintalk brand, including its retail assets from Vinculum. TMC (News - Alert) reported that this acquisition included infrastructure and established customer base associated with the company’s SIP trunking and hosted PBX solutions.

"In addition to offering a powerful combination of communications systems and phones, our resellers will be able to provide their business customers with flexible and feature-rich SIP trunking and hosted PBX (News - Alert) services which allows them to drive additional growth opportunities and take advantage of the increasing interest in hosted communications products," added Doug Boyd, ESI's CEO and co-owner of ESI Hosted Services.

Also this week was news of a McDonald’s franchise putting Panasonic’s collaborative communications technology to work for increased revenue and satisfaction. “Today, the food service market is ultra-competitive and efficiency, inventory control, customer service and cost containment is more critical than ever,” Panasonic blogged last week. “Customers come first, and they expect quality food and friendly, accurate service. As customer demands are changing, technology is a key factor to enable business efficiencies and deliver superior customer service.”

At the end of the day, this fast-food restaurant chain was able to meet and exceed its evolving customer expectations at its 18 locations.

Wrapping up this week is news of how Panasonic is increasing collaborative business efforts with its robust technology. Specifically, its 65-inch TH-65PB1 professional plasma displays, which were specifically designed by the company to “boost engagement and productivity,” according to a recent company blog.

The new PB1 will up the ante on engagement by affording clients the ability to write, annotate, draw and move items independently around its enormous screen, TMC reported. Additionally, users will also have the ability to use up to four pens on the screen at one time to increase collaborative efforts and productivity even further.

That’s going to do it this week here for the SIP Phones Community. To see the latest in the SIP Phone (News - Alert) space next week, be sure to check back same time, same place – only here at TMCnet!
