Skullcandy Uses Level 3's Network, SIP Solutions for Improved Network Efficiency

In order to improve the functionality of its global IP virtual private network (VPN), Skullcandy, a maker of headphones, earphones and hands free devices, is using Level 3's network and SIP solutions.

Skullcandy is known to use prominent color schemes, loud patterns, unique materials and creative packaging with their Supreme Sound audio technologies. The company currently sells its products in more than 70 countries worldwide.

Level 3's network and SIP solutions will help Skullcandy to improve communication among key corporate locations in North America and China.

With rapid growth of business and network congestion, Skullcandy has selected Level 3 in hopes of the company providing them a global IP virtual private network (VPN) that enables them to share massive digital image files (such as the artwork for their merchandise boxes) with their manufacturer in China, as well as support customer service; employee communications; and the day-to-day communications of their operations.

"We're relying on Level 3 to provide a rock-solid, high-performance international data infrastructure," said in a statement, Brent Allen, Skullcandy's senior technology manager. "Level 3's network and SIP solutions have improved the consistency and reliability of our communications. We now have the peace of mind of knowing that our communications network and our SIP-based phone systems are high quality, cost-efficient and dependable."

Level 3's IP VPN solution offers enterprise-class metro and wide-area network services over a private, dedicated Multi-Protocol Label Switching infrastructure.

"We are delighted to help Skullcandy improve the efficiency and quality of their communications," said Andrew Crouch, Level 3 regional president of North America Sales. "Our VPN and SIP solutions give them the flexibility, reliability and quality they need to support the demands of their business today and as they continue to grow in the future."
