Snap Fitness Adds Panasonic SIP Cordless Phones to its Regimen

No one thinks much about the phone system at the gym, but the gym is definitely thinking about it. For Snap Fitness, Entrepreneur Magazine's "Best in Category" winner in 2009 and number 16 on the Inc. Magazine "Inc.500" list, their phone system was just one of the many things they routinely consider as they work to provide the best in customer service for their many fitness-hungry patrons. That's why recently they turned to Panasonic (News - Alert) for its esteemed SIP Cordless Phone System.

Snap Fitness has a clear imperative to provide the best in customer service. With plenty of competitors in the marketplace, including long-time greats like "take a walk around the block and do some push-ups,” Snap Fitness knew it would need to provide service that was head and shoulders above its competitors in order to stay in play.

Ultimately, the company needed a way to not only be available to its customers in the facility (the ones who needed personal training or just a quick course on how to use a particular piece of equipment) but also for potential customers who were calling into each location. This combination of needs is what led Snap Fitness to re-think the "cordless phone.”

With that in mind, Snap Fitness then began to consider the wide array of cordless phones on the market, finally landing on Panasonic's SIP Cordless Phone (News - Alert) System. Why Panasonic? It was mostly am matter of features.

Naturally, the ability to have each trainer carry a phone around with them was a significant plus, and Panasonic's world-recognized and trusted name was an added bonus. Increased mobility further allowed them to not only be in play on the floor but also be ready to intercept calls as they came in. Using a VoIP system to back that up allowed for better than 20 percent savings over regular phone calls, and the overall ease of installation only made the choice simpler.

As mentioned, however, the features were what really caught Snap Fitness' attention.

Snap Fitness went with ConnectMeVoice as its service provider, which provided several benefits for the Panasonic SIP Cordless Phone System. Employees could designate hours in which work calls would be forwarded to their cell phones with the Follow Me system. Additionally, customizable intro greetings and on hold messaging allowed an easy way to sell to the customer even when no one could handle them by announcing store specials and the like directly to the customer.

For example, we’ve probably all been in a situation where we call the gym on high-priority days such as the most recent holiday – Thanksgiving. On a day when you plan to fill your belly with delicious but not-so-good-for-you food, massive numbers of individuals hit the gym prior to sitting down with family and friends in thanksgiving. The only problem is that many forget what time the gym may be open until, thus frantically dialing in to make sure.

Imagine instead of having to answer every single call individually, you could program your phone so that it relays such messages to the customer before even speaking to a live associate. It’s these sorts of situations where SIP phones become invaluable.

With the Panasonic SIP Cordless Phone System and ConnectMeVoice in place, Snap Fitness evolved from its sales-losing tactics of missing calls and not returning voice mails to an easy way of rapidly connecting to customers when they're in the best frame of mind for any business – interested. If customers are calling in, it means they're interested on some level, so providing that simple way to get more information – and information that's compelling such as special discounts and notifications – is a great way to turn customer service into solid sales. That's a strategy that any business can get behind, especially in a slow economy when every sale counts.

You can only get started, however, by investing in a SIP phone system such as Panasonic’s, which will give businesses a much better chance at success thanks to easy, rapid connection to interested customers. No one wants to miss a call that could have meant a sale. With Panasonic, you’ll likely never have to worry about this common concern again.
